Help Support Susan Beach and Her Daughters After Two Devastating Tragedies.
We’re reaching out on behalf of our beloved friend, Susan Beach (known to many as Sue P), and her beautiful twin daughters, Alexia and Briana, who just graduated from high school. This incredible family has endured unimaginable hardship over the past 18 months—and now they urgently need our help.
In January 2024, Susan’s husband, Jay, passed away suddenly from an aortic dissection, just one month after retiring. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and his loss left an enormous void.
Then, in April 2025, tragedy struck again. Susan was hit by a cyclist traveling at a high speed. She suffered a traumatic brain injury, fractured collarbone, and multiple broken ribs. Susan spent two weeks in a medically induced coma, and the first month in the hospital was filled with serious complications—brain swelling, meningitis, and pneumonia.
She is now at Craig Hospital in Colorado, undergoing intensive rehabilitation. Her injuries have caused memory loss, vision issues, and significant physical limitations. She requires 24-hour care and is working hard 5 days a week in physical, occupational, speech, and neuropsychological therapy.
Susan's siblings, Doug and Kathy, and their families have been an incredible source of strength and support. They are currently preparing to help transition Susan to a long-term care facility closer to her home in San Diego.
