Who are we?

Goole AFC isn’t just a football team. It’s a hub of the community. Formed in 1997 following the demise of Goole Town FC (1912-1996).

We compete at Step 6 of the English non-league pyramid in the Northern Counties East League.

We play our home fixtures at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds (VPG) which has been the home of football in Goole for over 100 years.

We’re more than just a team. We’re a family. A club built on the dedication of volunteers, fans and players who make Goole AFC a community and team on and off the pitch.

This year, major redevelopment commenced at our home (VPG), which once complete will be brilliant for both players and supporters.

Why are we Crowdfunding?

Because of the major ongoing redevelopment of the ground by the Goole Town council, the club has been left with a substantial, financial black hole.

Due to the delay in completion of the new pitch, we were forced to cancel all of our scheduled, home pre-season friendlies.

Pre-season friendlies, at our level of football, are a major form or raising money to kick start each season.

In addition, over the next nine months, untill the ground redevelopment’s completion, we are expecting further reductions in our match day revenue because of the severe operating conditions and lack of facilities imposed upon the club. 

We have been left with…

- Only 2 x 50 seater covered stands, which in poor weather, will limit our attendances.

- No clubhouse, where supporters can buy a drink or something to eat before/after games.

- No sound system to play music, which helps to build atmosphere.

All of these things are major revenue streams to help ensure the survival of any non-league football club.

The Dream

Why not dream big? Why can’t Goole rise through the leagues and take on football’s biggest names?

Harrogate Town once played at our level, and now they’re competing in the Football League, even facing Leeds United in the FA Cup!

Our current crop of players are gearing up for what we hope will be a very successful season but we cant do it without your help!
