On the evening of January 16th in Saanich B.C an electrical fire ignited the Surerus family home. It was lucky their daughter Holly noticed the fire on the bottom floor of their three storey townhouse before it had spread and alerted Gavin who was on the top floor in his room. Gavin then was able to use the fire extinguisher on the flames to get him and Holly outside to safety. Shannon, Taylor and Cyrus were not home at the time. 

Gavin and Shannon are devastated after learning they have lost everything in their home. All furniture, bedding, clothing, electronics plus many irreplaceable keepsakes and family photos.

With only structural insurance, replacing all of their belongings becomes a huge financial burden during an already traumatic time.

Their lives have been completely uprooted and it will be six months before this family is able to return to the place they have called home for more then ten years.

We understand this fundraiser will not relieve the pain of their situation but we hope it will ease their stress as they begin the process of rebuilding their home and replacing all of their personal belongings.

Victims of fires face tremendous emotional stress and financial costs. Gavin and Shannon our good friends of mine. My goal is to raise money to help them secure housing until they are able to return home and to help replace the household items, furniture and clothing destroyed by the fire.  Any donation is greatly appreciated!
