The Sunshine Home In Luxor

Hello Everyone!

I welcome you to my new GoFundMe for The Sunshine Home orphanage in Luxor, Egypt.

I am thrilled to be starting this new fundraiser after much success here in the past years, thanks to all of your wonderful generosity.

This orphanage was first introduced to me in 2016 during my first journey to Egypt; our visit here is part of a tour provided by my great friend Dee Kennedy.

Pearl Smith of the United Kingdom founded this orphanage and, in the past decades, has provided a safe and loving home for Luxor's forgotten souls.

Unfortunately, in 2015 due to circumstances beyond their control, the board of directors that helped with outside sponsorship had to pull out, leaving Sunshine Home without any financial help.

In 2017, I decided to come in and help the best way I knew how.

It is approaching six years later, and the steps to helping these wonderful souls have

grown to great heights.

In the photo here, you can see the boys and girls preparing to leave for school together, but in 2018, the girls were separated from the original orphanage and placed in a separate home nearby by the local government.

The fundraising provides help with both homes now.

We have helped with clothing, food, school supplies, medical help with surgeries and other emergencies, cleaning of air conditioners, painting, furniture, appliances, and personal needs. (And in 2019 a much needed bathroom renovation!)

We have also helped with money for education, which is now becoming very important since the souls in Sunshine Home seem to be growing up very quickly right in front of our eyes!!

We will continue to strive to help with the daily needs of both homes since life is constantly changing for us all.
