The Substitute - Film Project

"The Substitute" is a short film about a substitute teacher in a red state where teachers have been issued handguns in their classrooms, in spite of warnings about the dangers of arming teachers. The substitute is a burnt-out retired teacher who has very little patience for the young teenagers who don't have much respect for any substitute. When the substitute teacher reaches into the desk drawer and finds the loaded gun, a terrible set of events occurs.

The film will be offered free of charge to gun control organizations like Brady, Giffords and Moms Demand Action, as well as community and grassroots political organizations to spread the message about the terrible toll of gun violence, which will be an important issue in November elections. The film will also be screened at film festivals around the country.

I am raising money for the film through this gofundme site to promote the film nationally and to enter film festivals.
