The Stuller Family
Beschermde donatie
Billy Stuller was a passenger in a bad car accident on Saturday September 23rd. He has multiple injuries to his spine and neck and has undergone a serious surgery to install a plate on the front of his spinal column between his 3rd and 5th vertebrae. He spent 10 days in the ICU and another 10 days in the orthopedic neuro center at Memorial Hospital. He was recently moved to Rehabilition Hospital of Indiana in Indianapolis. He will spend at least 6 weeks in rehabilitation working on regaining as much mobility as he can. He spent the last 20 days while in the hospital working on mobility on his own, and has regained use of most of his left arm, and partial movement in his right arm.
Billy has a very long road in front of him, with extended rehabilitation after coming home. It is expected that he will be in a wheelchair when arriving home, which will require extensive updates to the house and property, such as new doorways, ramps, a parking area, and a van that can transport a wheelchair. Numerous updates and remodeling will be required inside as well, in areas such as the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and even hallways. For a list of potential updates that will be required please see the following: https://www.christopherreeve.org/todays-care/living-with-paralysis/lifestyle/home-modification/
On top of the cost to update and renovate the home we are expecting high medical costs, with little income at this time as Jenny is currently unemployed to care for him. The main focus is getting Billy as well as possible and getting him home.
Our goal is to raise funds to help the Stuller Family cover their normal bills and household costs so that missing work to support Billy will not become problematic. We also need funds to renovate the house in a short time frame, as the current timeline has him coming home from the rehabilitation center in early December.
Any amount that you can donate is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use. Thank you.
