Help make music education accessible to ALL kids!

The Strum Fund is a community funded program through The Strum Shop in Downtown Roseville, CA providing underprivileged youth in our community with access to music lessons, rental instruments, lesson materials, repairs and more - at no cost to the student or their family.

The Strum Shop is a family-owned full-service, musical instrument store and home to many local teachers who have provided music lessons to thousands of children and adults in the community since 2012. When kids work privately with our music instructors, each student gets the personalized attention they need in order to reach their playing goals and gain lasting confidence. Each music instructor provides guidance, instant feedback, personalized training, goal setting as well as support and encouragement to students - helping children become more satisfied with their handwork and achievements.

Kids who learn to play an instrument enjoy both academic and personal advantages for the rest of their lives. Studies have shown that music supports other learning such as: math, science, creativity, art, problem solving, communication skills and more. Early music training even helps develop brain areas that involve language and reasoning. Music also provides an outlet for self expression and focuses on "doing" rather than observing, and young musicians learn to conquer fear and take risks. All of these are essential skills that shape young lives forever.

The Strum Shop believes that all children should have access to music education. However, due to lack of funding in local school districts, underprivileged kids in our community have been left out from access to a modern music education.

Our goal is to provide FREE music lessons (and/or rental instruments, lesson materials, repairs and more) to underprivileged children while still providing an income for our music teachers and their families.

Our student waiting list is currently FULL and can not be reopened until more funds have been raised! Help us raise $10,000 by the end of 2022 so we may keep current participants funded, add 6 or more students to the program and reopen the waiting list.

Join us today in making music education accessible to all children in our community!
