My 29 year old wife and mother of 2 young daughters, Margaret Strong, has been dignosed with metastatic breast cancer. This means that the cancer has spread to multiple locations outside of the breast and is considered terminal. Margaret will live the rest of her life with this cancer.
This diagnosis is rare and continues to suprise us and our care team. As a chronic illness, Margaret will be on estrogen hormone supressors indefinately. As treatment progresses, the care team will monitor how the cancer is responding to treatment with a combination PET and CT scans.
There is much to be hopeful for. As research of this disease continues, new and more effective drug therapies become available. We are particularly hopeful about recent developments in the field of vaccine based therapies to manage disease longevity and outcomes.
We know we have many loving friends and family that would like to help in every way imaginable. This is another outlet to accept that support.
Many hands make light work. Donate today to help lift the financial burden this places on our family so we can continue to focus on Margaret's health and celebrate each milestone as we fight the long fight against this disease.
-With love the Strongs'
