The stray cats and kittens of Poros Island Greece
Donation protected

Hi to all you cat lovers out there, my name is Phoebus (Fivos), which means Bringer of Light. I live on the Greek Island of Poros, one of the Saronic Islands of Greece. I am fundraising on behalf of all the stray cats and kittens here on the island who desperately need your help.
When I was a kitten I had untreated cat flu and as a result, I now am blind. I was given to a lady called Trisha, as a 'no hope of survival' cat. Fortunately for me, Trisha adopted me and with love and care, I survived and am now 6 years old.

Sadly not all of the stray cats and kittens on this island are so fortunate!
I would like to help them by raising funds for desperately needed food, medications, and most importantly funds to be able to run a programme to sterilize stray cats to reduce the birth of homeless kittens, who would not enjoy a happy life on the streets.
These funds would be distributed by kind volunteers and make such a huge difference to the welfare of my friends. Whenever possible these volunteers try to find suitable homes for my fellow felines.
I am championing their plight and ask if you can spare anything towards looking after my friends, in these hard times, please do give, however small an amount, it would be so gratefully received and put to good use.

Update 11 August 2023:
Some of the amazing work these funds go towards :

Feeding the cats of Poros.

Litsa - Veterinary nurse with Coco
Coco's Story:
Hello, my name is Coco Chanel. I am 2 months old and was found lost and
wandering in a busy street in Piraeus.
My tail is broken and I am deaf and do not see very well.
A kind man called Stefan picked me up and took care of me until Trisha
collected me.

Nikos - The vet
Kittens in need of homes and care:

The wonderful vets that come to do the sterilizing programme. 106 cats were sterilized. We desperately need funds to do all the new kittens when they are the right age to do so.

The tabby 5 all will need sterilizing:

Vet Assistant with rescued Coco

Vet Nikos

Helper Fred assisting with the flea and worming treatments, they are in the Pounta area and all need sterilizing.

13 February update:
And the sterilization programme continues - so much to be done and funds badly needed:

Some cats are not just strays, below photos of a cat that was abandoned by the people that come on yachts and just decide to leave animals behind :

She sat by the port for a month waiting for the boat to return. Then she gave up and sat by the supermarket that sells cat food in the hope of getting a meal.
Plus another sterilizing programme again badly needing funds:

Trisha with Smokey and Suma

Always so many cats to help
