Hi, we are a group of film making students at UWE Bristol preparing to make our final year production. Our Goal is to make a film that we will remember for years to come as we start our journeys into the Film and TV Industry, with your help you can help bring that to reality.

Story and Background

The Stranger is a psychological drama exploring morality, desperation, and redemption through the eyes of Haroon, an immigrant factory worker on the brink of financial ruin.

Inspired by my (Zak O'Mahoney) grandfather’s journey and influenced by Crime and Punishment and Andrei Tarkovsky, the film delves into the struggles of displacement, poverty, and the moral dilemmas faced by those on society’s margins.

When Haroon is drawn into a plan to rob Webber, his desperation collides with his conscience. In a tense confrontation, as Webber reveals her own despair, Haroon makes a defining choice—rejecting violence and placing faith in an honest future.

Beyond its gripping narrative, The Stranger sheds light on the immigrant experience, exploring themes of identity, survival, and the ethical cost of desperation. In a time of growing global displacement, this film speaks to universal struggles, making it a timely and culturally significant work. We invite sponsors to help bring this powerful and socially resonant story to life.
