- The story of Marcus Crawford...... My name is Cassie Hines and I am the proud aunt of Marcus Crawford a loving father of two and a man who will drop everything to help anyone he knows. Marcus is currently facing the fight of his life after a sudden and senseless act of violence left him critically injured. We are reaching out to our community,friends, and anyone with a generous heart to help us raise $50,000 to cover the enormous medical costs. Rehabilitation expenses and critical care Marcus needs on his long road to recovery. On the evening of October 2nd Wednesday around 8:00 p.m. Marcus was traveling in Mullins South Carolina at the intersection of Marion and Smith Street he was tragically confronted by a deranged mental individual with a shotgun who aimed the weapon directly at his face. In a courageous reflective attempt to shield himself Marcus raise his arms. The shotgun blast severely wounded him scattering shrapnel and pellets into his body. Marcus is now hospitalized at MUSC in Charleston South Carolina over 100 miles from his home his injuries are severe and include multiple pallets entering his body shrapnel hitting his ribs and lungs one pallet enlarge in his liver three pallets causing significant damage to his right eye severe damage to his right arm. Despite these horrific life-threatening injuries Marcus found the incredible strength and clarity of mine to drive himself to the nearest hospital this act save his life but the fight is far from over. Marcus is a fighter but the road ahead is long difficult and expensive he will require a lengthy hospital stay followed by a demanding period of recovery which will mean he is unable to work for the foreseeable future
