The Store Copies and More Needs Us!!
 And more importantly...we need it!

Lisa Adams the proud owner of The Store Copies and More has lost her lease in the little store front between Truckee Tahoe Lumber Co. and Barifot Photo. Recent events transpired, and it became known that the owners of the amazing Barifot had decided to retire. Lisa was ecstatic that she would have first shot at expanding her business even though it meant losing her fantastic neighbors and friends. Details remained to be taken care of in this new transaction, and she did confirm with the owners of the building that could if she could not expand at this time, “was she being asked to vacate?” Their response was a simple, “We would prefer that you stay and prosper.”, however there would be an increase in the rent to make a reasonable return on their investment. Holiday time came and went and she weighed the new proposal, but determined that Tahoe City was still struggling and needed to revitalize in order for her to expand. Her conclusion? This time she would just continue business as usual and remain where she was. The property owners made the reasonable request to present a plan of how Lisa would be able to afford the higher rent to continue in the space and to meet with them. She did and during their meeting, she satisfied the higher rent amount with items that were previously excluded from her inventory, so as not to compete with Barifot's. The expansion of her inventory with these items fixed the rent increase. However it was during this meeting it was revealed that someone had approached the owners and offered more money towards the space. While Lisa was only informed of the higher amount during their meeting, she was asked if she could match the amount. She declined and has since been given notice to vacate.

Now come the bigger questions: Where does she move too? Where will she get extra funds to move? Each machine has to be professionally moved, plus move in costs? Where will she set up the shop that she has poured everything she owns and her energies towards? How? The shop that we all use and have counted on since forever may be lost.

We as a community all know that if this were you, and you were facing this crisis, you would not be alone. Lisa has stood by our small, but loving family. She given her time, her strength, and most importantly her love. She needs our help. Whether financially, physically, and emotionally. Perhaps you know of a space that would work for our Store Copies and More?  The financial parts of moving The Store will be a burden especially at this time of the year! I am writing to all of my friends and family to show Lisa that all of her hard work hasn't gone unnoticed.

Our community has always been built upon the successes of our neighbors. We take pride in taking care of each other through the good and the bad, and right now one of our neighbors is in a serious business crisis. Please reach out to her. Let her know and feel the love that she so freely gives to each and every one of us.

Thank you for your consideration,
