In the early morning hours of October 9th, my parents were awakened by a gust of wind that blew open their shutters. When they looked out their window they saw burning embers raining down all over their neighborhood of 30 years and a neighbor’s yard in flames. They yelled for my sister and her husband, who were living there, to wake up and get their two babies out—which they did. They escaped with their two dogs and the clothes on their back. Sadly, they were unable to rescue their cat. They made a harrowing exodus from their Coffey Park neighborhood, along with cherished neighbors. We are so grateful they are alive!
They would never think to ask for help, so I am asking on their, behalf, because I know insurance will not cover all of their expenses. If you are so inclined, please consider helping my folks while they work toward rebuilding.
