The Stolen Children Film: Part 1

Donation protected
Upon adoption, filmmaker Elizabeth Jacobs was the only baby out of her fellow adoptees to not receive a single piece of information about her family background. Now, twenty-one years later, she returns to Cambodia for the first time since childhood in order to uncover the truth about her adoption, as she is determined to find out why, and why her.

"The Stolen Children" is a documentary made to benefit the adoption community, whether that be the adoptive parents or the adoptees themselves. This film portrays the true feelings behind adoption and puts the pros and cons of the process into perspective. Our goal is to promote the lift on the ban of adoption in Cambodia by introducing audiences to a real subject, the director, Elizabeth Jacobs. Ensuing her adoption as a young child, Jacobs has been presented with countless opportunities, and "The Stolen Children" aims to inspire and create an impact on people of Cambodian descent. Stylistically, the documentary connects its subject to her roots, showing the beauty of Cambodian culture and highlighting the country’s unique lifestyle.

It is absolutely crucial to the production of "The Stolen Children" that funding goes directly into travel expenses (flights & accommodations). These expenses are the most financially heavy parts of our budget, as we are sending ten crew members overseas, directly from their respective home airports in a multitude of different states, to Cambodia. Help us fly out our crew to Cambodia so we can tell the story of our Director, Elizabeth Jacobs, and help her reconnect with her culture.

These travel expenses are some of the first expenses that we need to approve early on in our timeline to apply for future grants and funding of our project. The sooner we can lock down confirmation that our crew can fly over, we can move forward with pre-production. It is vital that we book flights as soon as our production timeline is confirmed so that we can adhere to a strict shooting schedule upon our arrival.

Your support means the world to us and we appreciate any amount of funding that is given to us. We want to give a voice to a community of adoptees and their adoptive parents, and through your donations, we can amplify those voices. Your donations will not only help our Director reconnect with her home country, but you will help a community of Cambodian adoptees who, just like our Director, feel distant from their heritage and roots.

We are forever grateful for your contributions and support and we look forward to shooting this documentary this coming Summer to share a message that needs to be heard. Any ounce of help, donation, or interest in our film means so much to our whole team and we thank every single one of you who decide to help fund this project, and/or spread the word about us. To show our appreciation, we have set up a multitude of giveaways if you donate a certain amount to our cause!
