Kristin was diagnosed at 17 with ALCAPA (anomalous left coronary artery of the pulmonary artery) which is a rare congenital heart defect. Since then she has been fighting hard through many procedures, open heart surgeries and many different medications. On Thursday, September 15th, Kristin was in for another heart procedure and they chose to do a blood test before starting. In that blood tests it was determined that Kristin has Leukemia. Kristin has now started chemo and has a long road ahead of her including hospitals stays, treatments and fighting any side effects of her heart medications as well as chemo.
