The Star B Community

A fundraiser in support of Star Black, who has been thrown into an intense fight against an extremely rare and aggressive type of ovarian cancer. Star has touched countless lives—and palettes—as an epic friend and a beloved member of the Kansas, New York and Portland food and wine communities. Star's enthusiasm, work ethic and sense of humor are legendary, and for so many of us, Star has been our go-to for good conversation, wine pairings, restaurant recommendations, inappropriate jokes, and loyal friendship. We want to help her fight this with everything she's got, and so we are now raising funds to help cover the expenses of her hospital stay, hospice care in her home, travel and life expenses for her family, and for the research of treatments for this very rare type of cancer.
