"THE STANDARD" 24 Hour Row Charity Challenge

Kane Training are completing a 24 hour max distance row challenge in aid of Destination Florida. The challenge will take place from 7pm December 29th - 7pm December 30th. This will be a physical and mental challenge for an amazing cause. We are thankful for any and all donations. Our member Morgan has been involved with the charity for a long time, you can read some more words from her below about Destination Florida and the amazing opportunities they provide.

Destination Florida Children’s Charity provides children with life-threatening or life-limiting medical conditions the trip of a lifetime while offering their parents or carers invaluable respite.

Every two years, the charity organises an eight-day trip to Florida for 75 children from the North West, where they visit major theme parks such as Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios.

The children are supported by 110 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and helpers, who form six “caring teams” to provide one-to-one care. A mobile hospital ensures their medical needs are fully met. While the children enjoy this unforgettable experience, their parents and carers receive eight days of much-needed rest, knowing their children are in professional hands.

As a volunteer nurse on the 2023 trip, I saw how this experience boosts children’s confidence, helps them form lifelong friendships, and allows them to feel like any other child.

This cause is deeply personal to me—my late mum was part of the charity’s first trip in 1988. My mum had a very rare condition and unfortunately made her live with a tracheostomy breathing tube since being 18 months old till the day she died. Honouring her legacy, I am committed to helping as many children as possible create lasting memories. Your support changes lives.
