**UPDATE:
1/4/23- It is with tremendous sadness that we share that Baby Arlo has lost his fight to cancer, he contracted a fungal infection in his broviac line which spread to his lungs then to his bloodstream. Baby Arlo passed away Monday 1/2/23 in the arms of his loving Mom and Dad. Our hearts go out to the Stahlman family during this time and we ask everyone to please continue to keep them in your prayers. Please continue to share this post, anything helps during this time for their family.
12/28- Baby Arlo had to be sent for emergency surgery to replace his dialysis catheter and it’s a very high risk surgery for him. Please continue to pray for the Stahlman family.
12/27- Baby Arlo’s medical status changed on Christmas Day and he’s in need of our thoughts and prayers. He is continuing to fight and he has already endured several bedside surgeries along with several other tests while he continues his fight. We have raised the goal for the family to help support them through this difficult time. Please share this to help raise support and keep Baby Arlo and the Stahlman family in your thoughts and prayers.**
Hello everyone, we have created this page to help raise some funds for the Stahlman family. Fairless grad Katie Stahlman (Eubanks) and her husband Taylor Stahlman have 2 children, Cora and Arlo, who have undergone and are still receiving medical care. Help us raise some funds to ease some medical expenses for this family. Here is a little bit of information about Cora and Arlo.
Cora & Arlo
Cora Mae Stahlman was born April 15th 2019 at 34 weeks, 4 lbs with gastroschisis (her intestines were outside). She had a long 7 month stay at the Akron Children's Nicu. Cora had her first surgery at 80 days old. She had a total of 6 surgeries over her stay and she went home with a broviac & a gtube. We had an amazing home nurse that would come every Monday to do dressing & cap changings, blood draws and check her weight. She is now 3 years old now and we are still on gtube feeds for 20 hrs a day. Cora has been to the hospital for a total of 8 months (if you add up all her stays since she left the Nicu) but now she’s on the infant/toodler floor. We’re so thankful for the care we’ve got over the past 3 years at Akron Children's! Cora Mae is such a strong little girl and we are so proud of how far she’s came!
Arlo Banks Stahlman was born February 16 2022. Arlo went for his 4 month check up and his doctor thought he looked pale. She did a finger poke and realized his hemoglobin was only 3.4 and should be 11 at the lowest. So she sent us to Akron Childrens ER to get a blood transfusion. Only to find out that it wasn’t that simple. They took blood work and found out that he has 1.5billon white blood cells and should only have 200,000. Which means he has Leukemia..type B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in childhood cancer. Our hearts are shattered right now and we don’t know what to think. We thought our baby boy was fine and healthy then this was happening inside him and we didn’t even know it. We have went through a lot over this past 26 days, he’s got Plasmapheresis ,2 blood transfusions,a central line, picc line, 3 IVs, Heart Echo, Seizures,EEG, over 55 blood products, MRI, Ultrasounds and we’re hoping now things will start get better for him soon. He’s been on chemotherapy for 24 days now, each round is a month so we hope he’s good enough to go home a day or two in between treatments but that’s all up to his bone marrow biopsy he will get after his last day of chemo for the 1st round. Later on he will need a bone marrow transplant or a stem cell transplantation when he gets a little bigger. Please pray for my baby boy to get through this and kick cancers butt!#arlostrong #childhoodcancer
