Hi, I'm Naomi and a regular of Parklife Cafe in Crumlin.
As many of you will now have heard, Shaun Bhuiyan, the much beloved owner of Parklife Cafe, has passed away unexpectedly. In addition to being an adored father, son, brother and friend, Shaun was truly loved by all of us in the surrounding area. He was instrumental in bringing the community together with his abundant energy and personality, not to mention his penchant for a prank and questionable dad jokes. He had a knack in making us all feel special, never forgetting a name, or even a pet’s name. He really had a profound impact on us all. I have no words to express the heartbreak I feel and how deeply I will miss him; I’m sure all of you are feeling this too.
As with every tragedy, this also has a knock-on impact on other members of the community. I am setting up this GoFundMe to help out the 7 staff members of Parklife Cafe who in addition to grieving their colleague and friend, are now facing financial uncertainty with the loss of their jobs.
In the spirit of community, the same community that Shaun worked so hard to uphold and bring together, it would be amazing if anyone can show their support, in whatever small way you can afford, to help Ciaran, Totsie, Carlos, Roman, Josias, Eduardo and Lucille get back on their feet. 100% of donations will be split evenly between the 7 employees.
As with the nature of a community hub like Parklife, many of us know each other’s faces very well but perhaps not names or contact details, so it will be a bit tricky to get the word out, so I would really appreciate if you could please share this with anyone you think might like to support. WhatsApp groups, your neighbours, your friends, anyone you can think of.
