My name is Deanna "Grandma Dee" Goertz and I am the proud owner of The Squeaky Toy (TST). I have been happily married for 27yrs and in my family there is my hubby, six daughters, two grandsons, five chickens, six cats, and eight dogs. I am a Veteran (7yrs USN) and was a Community Emergency Response Team member for the city of Shoreline, WA. I have set up this non-profit, mobile service to provide free pet supplies to the pets of disabled Veterans, homeless, senior citizens and low income families and individuals during struggling times.
The Squeaky Toy is not about free hand outs but a temporary helping hand during difficult times. Many of us have had friends or family members who at some point in their lives have needed some extra help. This is where we come in. We provide needed services for pets which takes the burden off the owner so they can focus on getting back on their feet. Our goal is to make sure the animals are well cared for during these difficult times and are able to stay with their owners.
We rely on product donations gathered from pet fairs, donation drives, individuals and companies. One hundred percent of all monetary and product donations received (including GFM) goes strictly to helping animals. Currently we have no paid staff, including myself.
From volunteering with Pit-A-Billy's Helping Homeless Hounds I have witnessed a great need for pet food, pet products and veterinary care to help these people care for their wonderful pets. Although there are some services already available the locations and hours open are not always easy for them to get to. Not to mention long lines cause many to be turned away without help.

The Squeaky Toy donation and fundraising events! It's long hours and hard work but so worth it when you see a pet enjoying supplies and the smiles on the owner's faces.
These pets show unconditional love to their owners and are their lifeline to continue living, to get or stay sober and sometimes the only ones who show them love. They deserve to have their needs met regardless of the circumstances of their owners.

By making our services mobile The Squeaky Toy can meet the needs of these pets in the places where they live. Whether it be in a shelter, low income housing, a homeless encampment, a car or under a bridge. The Squeaky Toy will also be working with food banks, shelters, churches, stores and other organizations that support pets like these.
As TST has been up and running for two years now I have met so many wonderful supporters that believe in our cause. Thank you to Paddywack Pet Store in Mill Creek, Denny's Pet World in Kirkland, Zoom Room in North Seattle, Gallaghers' Where-U-Brew in Edmonds, Splash Dog in Edmonds, Dogwood Playground and Bar in Seattle, No Bones Beach Club on Capitol Hill, Animal Aid and Rescue Foundation (AARF) in Seahurst, The Seattle Barkery in Seattle, Massage by Molly in Everett, True Value Hardware on Mercer Island, Pet Smart in North Seattle, Nature's Pet Market in Shoreline and the many individuals who believe in our cause. The Squeaky Toy has been able to help many pets because of your donations and generosity.
With the help of you wonderful people and these companies The Squeaky Toy has will be able to help domestic violence victims with pets, pets of homeless teens, pets that have needed medical attention, pets in low income housing, pets living on farms and many others. Please make a donation and help The Squeaky Toy continue to provide for these wonderful animals who give so much but ask for nothing.
