Make an Estey your Bestie!
When Bruce went in for a dental visit in May, he didn't imagine it would lead him to a series of medical procedures that would involve removing all of his teeth and 60 lymph nodes along with the cancerous tissue they discovered in his mouth that day. Those of you who know Bruce know how tenacious he can be. That tenacity was invaluable as he underwent and made it through a major life changing procedure on August 19th. We are happy to report that the surgery was successful, and he is now beginning the healing process. Life will be different, but the doctors expect him to make a full physical recovery. However, his financial recovery is less assured, and that's where you can help. The doctors predict that he will be able to return to work in a month or two, but a month or two is a long time to go without income. Although Bruce's health insurance will cover most of the medical expenses from the surgery, Bruce and his family will not have his income to rely on to cover some of their basic living expenses. They will also have other expenses including dental work (dentures can be mighty expensive), follow-up procedures, and appointments with specialists that will set them back significantly.
We're reaching out to friends, family, and acquaintances and asking you to please consider contributing what you can (if you have the means) to help lighten the financial burden this unexpected event has caused.
Bruce, Stephanie, Cassius, and Harlan are dear to all of us. This support will help them get through a hard time and allow them to focus on Bruce's health until he's on his feet again and his rapier wit is restored to full capacity.
We thank you, the Estey family thanks you, and Bruce thanks you!
