The Spicer family: Ryleigh’s Journey

Please join me in prayers and support for the Spicer family. This page is set up to provide an opportunity for friends and family to give in various ways to this sweet family.

Ryleigh’s story-

During a routine anatomy scan, it was found that Ryleigh had a congenital heart defect. Ryleigh was diagnosed with Atrioventricular Septal/Canal Defect (AVSD) with a variation of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), along with a Persistent Left Superior Vena Cava (PLSVC) and an Aberrant Right Subclavian Artery (ARSA). Ashley had a smooth pregnancy with consistently following up with providers multiple times a week.

Ryleigh was born February 19th and had a beautiful but short 3 weeks on this earth. Though she had her special little heart, she passed due to complications from sepsis on March 11th. She handled every challenge with grace- so fitting that prior to her birth they chose Grace as her middle name. Ryleigh was a fighter and had such a sweet spirit & soul. She loved her little hands and fingers, with always wanting them by her face. Ryleigh loved her daddy singing to her. He sang to her often and she just loved it- she would stare at him. She loved hearing mommy and daddy’s voice- clearly knowing them and tracking in a room filled with medical staff. She tracked mommy around the room and it melted mommy’s heart knowing she knew who mommy was in the depths of her soul. Ryleigh was so beautiful, sweet, a snuggler, and very alert.

Shawn and Ashley’s wishes is for even in her absence for God’s glory to be shown. If you spend more than 5 minutes with either of them, you see how giving and loving they are. With funds that are donated, it will be used to cover medical and funeral expenses, with the remainder funds going to research in her memory. Above all else, please join me in ongoing prayer for this sweet family.
