Hi, my name is Joshua Buxton & I'll be producing 'The Spark' for up and coming Director Molly Clarke!
A work with a distinct charm and packed with adaptability, featuring a rich Australian tone in everyday humour and characterisation - our journey commences from a place of volativity in the hospo confines, before voyaging to a country farm.
Inspired by the likes of 'Sideways' (Payne, 2004), 'Into the Wild' (Penn, 2007), 'Two Cars, One Night' (Waititi, 2004) & 'Rabbit' (The Fletcher Brothers), jam packed with rich landscapes contradicting restrictive culinary confinements, The Spark acts as a rush of blood to the head of our protagonist and audience alike - and transverses the means of creativity in context.
- As our endeavours in production may lead us out to the likes of Bowral or Cooma, our Goal is an overtly ambitious $3500 to support crew and cast transport and everyday operations (i.e catering, accomodation etc), as well as support our marketing and promotions across social and mainstream media.
- Aspirations are boundless when it comes to our production, as we envision a festival push towards the Adelaide/Sydney Film Festival & Sundance.
Risks & Challenges
As with all student films, the biggest risks we face revolve around availabilities of cast/crew members, post-production muck ups and scheduling delays. However, as of the time of writing I'm quietly confident this should all go without a hitch!
What your support means
We're all budding professionals in the film/creative industry, and to build to our portfolios/to contribute to the Australian Indie Short Film community would mean the world. Moreover, we'll be able to tell a story rich with a unique lens of art and subjectivity - aiming to captivate those who's eyes would not be found if not for you.
We also understand about the current financial strain a lot of us are facing, so we welcome all donations - no matter how big or small. They're all equally as significant to our production goals, and we really appreciate your support!
We greatly appreciate your support! :)
