I'm Bryce Cristiano, a passionate filmmaker and recent graduate from The City College of New York. I'm thrilled to bring our heartfelt documentary, "The Space Between," to life, and I'd love for you to join me on this incredible journey. This film is a personal exploration of my relationship with my mom (Kelley), shedding light on the complexities of growing up in a same-sex parent household.
"The Space Between" explores themes of homophobia admist heteronormative family structures. It captures the weighty emotions and challenges we faced, striving to make these experiences palpable to viewers.
Supported by, Yanqi Zhang, who contributes her cinematographic vision, we created a safe space for my mother to open up about her negative experiences. Our aim is to demonstrate how our unique life paths have shaped our responses to bigotry, including our struggles with teenage depression.
This documentary holds a deeply personal significance for me. It's not about painting an idealized picture of growing up with same-sex parents; rather, it's about presenting an authentic portrayal of the complexities we've faced due to societal biases. We want to foster empathy and understanding, not only for individuals raised by same-sex parents but also for anyone who has encountered discrimination.
To bring this impactful project to life, I'm counting on your support. Your contributions will help cover essential expenses like post-production, an original score that sets the right tone, and ensuring that our film reaches audiences through festivals and screenings.
Join us in supporting "The Space Between" and let's create a truly remarkable documentary that resonates with viewers and challenges societal norms. Your contribution, no matter the amount, and even sharing our campaign mean the world to us. Thank you for being a part of this meaningful journey!
