In 2016, The Impi Theatre Company went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to present The South Afreakins, a dark comedic solo show written and performed by actress and writer Robyn Paterson.
With amazing support from our 2016 backers, this little unknown company and show sold out their entire 28 night run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, garnering four and five star reviews from multiple press including The Daily Express, The Stage, One4Review, Broadway Baby, Fringe Biscuit and Brickbats and Bouquets Reviewers.
This year, not only is The Impi Theatre Company returning to the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with The South Afreakins but it also brings a BRAND NEW SHOW and THE WORLD PREMIERE OF-
The South Afreakins: The Afreakin' Family
Written and performed by Robyn Paterson.
Since Edinburgh 2016, The South Afreakins show has been performed and sold out at London's 2017 VAULT Festival, New Zealand's Meteor Theatre and Basement Theatre with Robyn Paterson also being named one of New Zealand's best top theatrical performances for 2017.
The show has headlined The 2018 Hawke's Bay Arts Festival, 2019 Southland's Arts Festival and most recently sold out at London's Space Theatre in February 2019, receiving a five star review from The Spy in the Stalls Reviewers.
Both The South Afreakins & The South Afreakins: The Afreakin Family shows will play at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival on alternative nights at Edinburgh for the full month at The Space on the Mile from the 2nd-24th August 2019.
But we need your help to make this season as successful as the last!
