THANK YOU for your interest!

We are Qualiworx Engineering, a young start-up from Lesotho, founded in August 2025. Yes, THAT fresh! Alongside classic engineering services, we offer our flagship product: The Solar Barrow, a mobile solar power generation and backup station.

What will we do with your donations?
We will lower the price of The Solar Barrow for the end-customer and make it better accessible to the people of Lesotho, the Basotho. Every donation will influence the end-price directly.

What exactly is The Solar Barrow?
The Solar Barrow is a small-scale solar photovoltaic system which is mounted on top of a standard wheelbarrow frame.
The PV system specs:
  • 2x 100 W solar panels
  • 1x 30 A charge controller
  • 1x 100 Ah battery, 12 V, lithium
  • 1x 500 W inverter

What are the benefits of The Solar Barrow?
There are many, and we'll try to be brief:
The Kingdom of Lesotho is the highest country in the World with an elevation of over 1,200 m above sea level at its lowest point. Lesotho is one of the poorest countries in Africa with an average electrification rate of under 60%. The mountainous terrain and the rocky underground render the expansion of the national grid into an expensive exercise.
For the same reasons, the quality of the road network is far below western standard. Many villages can not be reached by car and traveling there includes foot-walks of several hours over well-worn and caved-in tracks.
The transportation of equipment for solar power systems into these areas, presents a real logistic challenge because the batteries are heavy and the glass covered panels can break easily.
>>> Reason No 1: The Solar Barrow provides basic electricity to people in remote regions of Lesotho that cars can not reach.

Electricity access opens a whole new world to people who experience this for the first time in their own homes. It provides lighting which allows them to cook dinner, to study and to finish homework, to knit socks for winter, and to move safely in and around their homes after sunset.
>>>Reason No. 2: The Solar Barrow provides lighting, and it increases people's productivity.

In regions of Lesotho which are still without electricity access, the locals struggle to charge their mobile phones and to keep up the communication with family and friends. In cases of emergencies, it is never certain if they are able to call for help. To charge phones, the locals visit shops that run a petrol generator for a few hours per day. The Solar Barrow provides a clean and sustainable option for entire communities and smaller villages to charge electronic devices, such as mobile phones and laptops all day around.
>>>Reason No. 3: The Solar Barrow provides people in Lesotho with the possibility to charge their communication devices.

In Lesotho, the electricity network is not as stable as in...Germany, for instance. At Qualiworx Engineering, we use The Solar Barrow on a daily basis to protect our office equipment from short power-cuts that last only a few seconds and to keep up the workflow during longer outages of several hours.
The Solar Barrow is well-suited to power standard office equipment, such as laptops, monitors, inkjet printers, wifi-routers, radios and desk lamps. Rural clinics, police stations, and schools are among the beneficiaries.
>>>Reason No. 4: The Solar Barrow can power office equipment and allows for a continuous work flow.

How will the funds be used? And how do the people receive them?
The regular price of The Solar Barrow is M 24,950 (M=Maloti; local currency in Lesotho) which translates to around EUR 1,200. At Qualiworx Engineering, we are constantly trying to lower the price for the end-customer through tight budgeting and the location of well-priced construction materials and solar components. Ramping up the production output will also allow us to lower the price of the individual units. BUT we are not there yet, and that is why we need YOUR SUPPORT...!
