It is with a heavy heart that I update this page to inform you of Erik's passing. This world was better because he was in it and will not be the same without him.
We would like to thank everyone who donated while Erik was sick. With his passing, we have changed the mission of this fundraiser. Medicine and surgeries are no longer required since our friend is now at peace. Instead, we'd like to turn our focus to the children and help ensure their education and financial needs are met in Erik's absence. This was a big deal for Erik and we thank you in advance for your help and contribution.

The Snesruds' world flipped upside down in August 2018 when doctors found a large tumor in Erik's brain. Since then, Erik has undergone two brain surgeries, multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, numerous side effects associated with the illness, and is now facing a potential diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Throughout his battle, Erik has shown us time and again the true definition of courage, strength, resolve, and most of all love. Love for his family, love for his friends, love for his job and a love for life.
This comes as no surprise to those of us that know Erik. He is above all a family man.. a provider, a supporter, a loving husband, and a one of a kind father. He is a rock star friend, an amazing listener, a jokester and a lover of margaritas! As a scientist, he is simply brilliant. He loves his job, does it better than anyone I know, and can hang with the most prominent scientists in our field.
Through his cancer battle Erik has continued working and providing for his family. He has not let his illness get in the way. As his illness progresses, however, we would like him to know he is not alone. He's earned a break and a chance for others to step in to help his amazing family as well.
Any donation you provide will help with medical expenses both now and in the future as well as serve as a fund for the family to use as they see fit.
The Snesruds are one of the strongest families I know. Faced with challenges, they roll up their sleeves, join together and battle through. Let's share in that battle and show them they are not alone!
