The Smith’s and baby Cooper
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lauren Croft and Emily Smith is a dear friend of mine. Yesterday morning, baby Cooper became very sick and had trouble breathing. Emily had to call 911 and take him to the hospital via ambulance. He is just 5 days old and is fighting for his life. Something no child or family should have to go through. This week also marks the two year anniversary of Emily finding out her older daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia. This family has been through so much, and will need everyone to keep praying hard. I wanted to start this to help the family with medical expenses and anything else that they’ll need during this tragic and scary experience. Any amount will help, and please keep praying that God will heal baby Cooper. Thank you!
Here is an update from Emily yesterday:
I can’t even believe I’m writing this right now. Cooper has been admitted to the PICU at Scottish Rite. He was lethargic and breathing was irregular this morning. The decision was made to call 911 and get him to the ER. He has been put on a ventilator to help his breathing. They have run every lab/ test imaginable to figure out what is going on. His ammonia is elevated which explains some of the symptoms he was having that led him coming to the hospital. They are giving him various medications to correct his ammonia. They are trying to determine the root cause of this Hyperammonemia
Friends and Family, I am asking for prayers.
Prayers that Cooper gets better. That his ammonia improves. That everything will be ok. That they are able to treat this with medications. That they are able to find the root cause
Prayers for strength. Lord, we need it. We all need it. I am so thankful for our family who has helped us graciously, dropping everything to be there.
Prayers for Char and Liv. They know Coop is at the hospital, but not the extent of how sick he is right now. They love their little brother so much.
Words can’t even explain how difficult this is.
