The Skjold Family House Fire Fund

Our coworker, Tanya, experienced every mother's worst nightmare on 5/29/2024, when her family's home caught fire. Luckily, for all the family members, nobody was home. However, the animals were home and all have passed away. Tanya and her family have lost their 3 cats, and 2 dogs. They had to rush the dogs to the VCA Kalamazoo Animal Hospital and implement lifesaving measures to attempt to save the dogs’ lives. Unfortunately, their 10 year old dog passed away in the first 24 hours. Despite all efforts over the past 48 hours, the last pup Rubin passed away this morning (6/1/24) in the family’s arms. The financial burden of the emergency veterinary cost is only adding to the trauma and stress for the family. Tanya and her family are currently in temporary housing at a hotel for the next few weeks. They do not have access to their house that is condemned. Tanya has a family of 6. That is 6 people to dress, bathe, and groom. We want to make sure they have all the necessities they need during this difficult time.
