Hi, my name is Eric Gheewalla and I am fundraising for the Simo famliy:

Ana and Julian Simo graduated dental school in Albania in 2012 and 2013. Their dream was the American dream, to immigrate to the United States of America and work as dentists and someday have their own dental practice.

They obtained Green cards in the lottery and moved to the USA in 2015 where they settled in Florida to start working as orthodontic assistants until they could fulfill the requirements to become recognized as dentists. Julian and Ana lived in Orlando until 2017 when they moved to Boston. Their hope was that they could soon attend one of the three dental schools in Boston in order to complete the advanced standing international program.

Julian started working for us at the beginning of 2018 and Ana worked at another office, both as assistants. Their plans for school were delayed as Ana became pregnant and soon Thomas was born who turned 5 on July 2023. As they were studying for the entrance exams and applying to dental schools, Ana became pregnant with Alex. In Ana’s 8 month of pregnancy, she was diagnosed with Melanoma. Alex was born in 2020 and Ana began her battle with Melanoma at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Ana, who is now 34, has had excellent treatment through Dana-Farber and at first was in remission. Her cancer returned and Dana-Farber has not been able to find the right treatment to eradicate the cancer and Ana is now in Stage 4. Through all of this hardship, Ana was not able to return to work and Julian has had to miss significant time at work. With their dreams on hold to be dentists in the USA, Ana and Julian are battling her cancer and trying to support a very young family. They are enduring significant financial hardships and could use help from all avenues.
