The Shrewsbury Chorale 65th Season Fundraiser
Tax deductible
The Shrewsbury Chorale is organizing this fundraiser to benefit the group’s 65th Season of Concerts. We are raising money to specifically cover the following costs for the two Spring concerts by the Shrewsbury Chorale:
- Concert accompanist
- Two professional section leaders
- The cost of the octavos
- Venue costs
- Instrument tuning
When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March of 2020, the Shrewsbury Chorale suffered the financial loss of ticket sales and concert program ads. As a non-profit arts organization, we rely on patron donations to help cover operating expenses. Founded in 1957, the Shrewsbury Chorale is a mixed chorus, performing varied repertoire in Monmouth County, New Jersey. We are asking for your help now that we are able to provide the surrounding communities with live music again!
Our next concert is on Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at 4:00 pm and is called “The Time of Singing: Celebrating 65 Years of Song,” with themes of peace, love, and social justice. Performing in the beautiful Freehold Presbyterian Church, the Chorale will be singing a combination of familiar choral repertoire by Bainton, Mozart, and Batten, and including works by living composers such as Shawn Kirchner and Michael John Trotta.
The Shrewsbury Chorale's June Pops concert on Sunday, June 12th at 4:00 pm contains a delightful juxtaposition of new and familiar works, including a piece for treble voices by Canadian composer Sarah Quartel, and a Sacred Harp setting by Jeffrey Douma from Yale. Punctuated by solos from the Chorale's two brilliant section leaders, Jacqueline Quirk and Douglas Clark, the concert also has music by Gerald Finzi, a rousing spiritual by Hall Johnson, and a setting from Bernstein's West Side Story.
Would you like to help make a difference? Any donation amount will have an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause.
