The Short Stop Staff Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi,
This is “Mama Cass” here, the ring leader behind The Short Stop and Footsies Bar. I hope this message finds everyone safe and healthy. First I have to say on behalf of both bars, we miss all of you immensely and being around the energy of people having a good time. We can’t wait for the party to resume and see a lot of smiling faces!
I have reached out to you before when we have done charity event nights and fundraisers for some of our beloved staff that had huge medical bills, but today I’m reaching out for our bar and security staff, who felt some reluctance starting a gofundme since everyone is going through a really hard time right now, but so are they and people have been asking how they can help. Any little bit helps and that is why I’m putting this together for them:
Dear "Shorty" Friends and Family,
For many of us this is more than an inconvenience, but rather a life-altering (and very scary) shift in our livelihoods. We love what we do. Most of our staff receive the entirety of their income in the bar and service industry, and unfortunately grants and unemployment funds are uncertain to say the least.
Our love for this job is reflected in you, our customers. It is reflected in our dance parties, in the good times we share every night of the week, and in our community. You are more than patrons. You are more than bar regulars. You are our friends and our family. You make us who we are, and we love you for it.
Many people have inquired as to how they can help our staff out in what is truly a time of need. We have created this account as an option for those that wish to contribute where they can. Every dollar counts and 100% of donations will go directly towards the bartending and security staff at The Short Stop, helping our team stay afloat until we are able to reopen our doors and get back to kicking ass. For those that are able, you can make a world of difference.
The past few days have been a whirlwind for all of us. We are in unprecedented times, and it’s more important to love and support each other now than ever before. Regardless of how you do it, now is the time to stand up and reach out.
Thank you for being you, and for making us who we are. We will get through this together.
Love,
The Short Stop Family.
