We officially had to vacate our location that has housed us these past 6 years and are in need of your help!❤️

Hi Everyone! We are THE SHOP! A collaborative partnership built on years of experience in the creative, service and entrepreneurial industries! 

 Our founders Maresah Rogers and Rochelle Burbank are Locals of Vancouver, Wa looking to expand the current business, The Shop by Maresah (est. 2018) into a new concept and space in our downtown community! Our mission will be “to provide an inclusive environment for creative exploration to expand personal and professional growth.” 

 We realized during the pandemic that there is a great need for communities to stay connected; we took into account the importance of having creative outlets, a work/life balance, and the need for inclusive spaces in our area. We decided to turn these needs into a plan to create an environment to foster connection and opportunity within our local community. 

 We started with a single stylist (The Shop by Maresah) who then developed her own hair/self-care line (ROOTS by Reese) and joined forces with local entrepreneur Rochelle Burbank, then we continued to expand by including a thriving tattoo artist (Obsidian Rabbit) and a fabulous hair braider (Braided by Fatima). We also Feature the wonderful creations of Road13 Engraving and a variety of other local arts and wares. 

 Our goal is to expand The Shop and move into a larger environment. This will allow us the opportunity to provide a more interactive creative space and social lounge with the intention of bringing the community together through business, art, hobbies, interests, food, libations and networking in a beautiful, inspiring space! 

 We are now reaching out to our community at large as we find ourselves in a time sensitive position to make a change as quickly as possible! 

 After being in our current location for almost six years now, we’ve always made the best of what we had in our little space. However, as our business continually made a beautiful evolution of improvements within our suite, the complex as a whole has continually lacked in its overall care and upkeep. We started this next venture while being pressured by our current landlords into signing a long term lease agreement at a higher rate, but after being in the middle of negotiations, they have now given us 30 days to vacate our space.

We have been working diligently on gaining funding though other resources, but with time being of the essence now, we need your help to further fund the necessary startup costs. 

 All funds will be used specifically to: 

-Acquire the location (currently in progress) 

-Build out the necessary improvements 

-Purchase necessary equipment 

-Implement updated systems 

-Hire new staff members 

 We would be honored for you to join us in this pursuit to help us move into a new location and build a space we all need and can’t wait to be a part of!
