As some of you may know by now, our family experienced a terrible accident this past weekend. I am so upset that I find it almost impossible to describe with words. Our baby boy, Dixon Shevchik, burned nearly half of his body with boiling water. He was rushed to Scranton, then ultimately to the Lehigh Valley Pediatric ICU burn unit, where he is currently being treated. No little angel should ever have to go through this. My sister Traci, and her husband Corey have been lovingly by Dixon’s bedside throughout this entire ordeal. It is a horrible feeling as a parent to watch what you love most suffer, and not be able to do anything but cry and pray. Dixon’s prognosis is good, and he’s expected to fully recover, but my sister and her family have a long road ahead. They will obviously be missing a lot of work over the next few weeks, and face considerable travel and medical expenses. They also have two other very young children that they need to attend to in the midst of all of this. I am asking from the bottom of my heart, that you try to help if you can. Anything at all that you can give to lessen their burden will be forever appreciated. I understand that these are tough times, and for those of you who can’t give, I’m asking that you please just take a minute to pray for the Shevchiks. Thank you!
