This 76th year of my life, which I eagerly anticipate celebrating next week, brings me a joyous announcement. As we age, we often face two paths: forgetfulness or clarity, and a greater sense of purpose than ever . In the Old Testament, we read about the 12 spies who were sent to assess the viability of conquering the land of Canaan. While ten of them returned defeated in their minds, Caleb and Joshua saw it as a land filled with purpose, abundance, and the perfect home for the Israelites. They were not deterred by the challenges ahead and demonstrated unwavering faith and vision. At the remarkable age of 85, Caleb, who had remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life, reminded God of His promise to give him a portion of Canaan. And God honored that promise.

Now, as I approach my birthday, and although I may not have tangible earthly rewards to claim, I share a fantastic vision with Alan that is gradually taking shape. At 76, I am thrilled to say that the call of God has no expiration date and is not affected by age. With God, everything is happening NOW! Right now! And RIGHT NOW God has led us to the country of Bangladesh, where we have become friends with a precious family. Over the past two decades, they have dedicated themselves to ministry through CAMPUS CRUSADE, and now they serve in various ways, including church services, Sunday School, rescuing children from the streets, and caring for them daily. Remarkably, they have never solicited a single penny from us. However, in recent months, God has been speaking to us about “specified tithing,” encouraging us to “know where we sow!” Inspired by this guidance, we felt compelled to begin sowing into the ministry in Bangladesh.

In short, our small loaves and fishes are multiplying, and God is opening up new opportunities. We are thrilled to announce that we will be serving four new nations right from here in America.

“The Sherman House Of Hope” is our first fabulous project. Plans are drawn for the Children’s home, that will house 50 children, having been rescued from the streets of Bangladesh but where soon they will have a safe place to call their own. They will be cared for, physically, medically, nutritionally and protected and taught spiritually and educationally. And WE get to see this happen in our lifetime. “Doesn’t that surprise you that you never know where, how or when He’s gonna show up?” Who would have thought that at my young age ( ) this is where my focus of helping would be? The Red Couch Live has become international and it reaches and teaches people all over the world, including Bangladesh! We are so humbled and grateful!

We never ask for anything but prayer as a donation to our ministry. But this year I’m doing things a little differently. Instead of using my birthday to raise money for other ministries I believe are genuine and good ground to sow into…. I’m going to present the new place God is leading us to build. “The Sherman House of Hope” is in process. Plans are being finalized for the first home to be built. It’s extremely exciting, especially to imagine that one of these “ throw away” children could end up as the “voice” for bringing the country of Bangladesh to Jesus. Why not??

So this year will you consider “sowing” a birthday donation into “The Sherman House Of Hope?” Together we will change the destiny, both physically and spiritually of one child at a time.

Happy Birthday to me
actually means Happy Life for these precious children.

I’m raising $80,000 for a home to be built that in this country could be from $300,000 - $500,000. It’s nothing in the big picture though if we can save lives and teach them about the greatest lover of children, Jesus.

Disclaimer: We are not non profit. We believe gifts should be given honestly and with the knowledge that God will send you his own special thank you. It’s not for the purpose of a tax deduction.

Thank you for praying and asking God what He wants you to do. Believe me I never would have imagined this happening in my life, at this time in my journey, but… boy oh boy! God is just chock full of surprises!

Will you join me?
