The Shawntell and Paul Andrews Family
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Bill Brooks, and I'm raising money to help the Andrews family following a medical emergency.
On 3 August, Shawntell Andrews’ husband, Paul, had a heart attack. He made it to the hospital, was stabilized, and had successful bypass surgery a day later. That’s all the good news for now, but that’s a lot of good news, and the Andrews family, whom I’ve known for ten years, feels blessed to share it.
23 AUG UPDATE: Paul is doing better, but tires easily. According to the UK's National Health Service, your body is using a great deal of its energy for self-healing and will continue to do so for at least six weeks. In all the pictures, you'll see the Flowers Hospital Heart Pillow. From my bypass surgery in 2018 (at Flowers), I know what it's used for, and it really points out that bypass bodies are weak bodies. When Paul needs to stand up, he places the heart on his chest and squeezes it with both arms. That way, he can't use his arms to push himself up, thereby keeping pressure off the sternum which is wired together. Eventually the sternumm will grow back together and he can lose the pillow.
Thank you to all who have helped Paul, Shawntell, and their family. Shawntell, told me that they got their first medical bill yesterday; the deductable is $3,000, so your generosity is a true blessing. Thank you.
