I’ve been dealing with hidradenitis suppurativa for years, but it overwhelmed my body last February 2, 2023, when I started bleeding at home. I was ambulanced to our ER and transferred to Medical City Plano. From February 2 - September 24, I was in the hospital or LTAC (long-term acute care hospital), where I underwent 12 surgeries. Craig was able to stay with me, but I have been unable to work since spring 2022. There were expenses from that and the running of the house and kids at home. After coming home in September, I needed home health, supplies, PT, and wound care doctors. I started having some complications with my colostomy shortly after coming home. I have been in the ER no less than ten times since I’ve been home. As we pursued the reversal of the colostomy, we discovered that I have an enlarged spleen and liver issues. I need a specialized surgeon to deal with those things and eventually reverse the colostomy.
