The Shameless Project
Donation protected
For my birthday this year I want to do something meaningful and so I have finally decided to launch my not-for-profit which raises funds and awareness for women with alopecia. As some of you know; I am usually in a dust storm this day of the year but since I am not it may be time to make up for all those lost birthday presents and contribute to a lifelong endeavour of mine to change people's lives. About six years ago I went to Hair Place NYC and an incredible woman there gave me a wig out of a box that had been donated to the establishment and was not for sale but charity. She told me a beautiful story about how her mother had suffered from this autoimmune disorder and so she dedicated her life to helping others in a similar position. It became a dream of mine then and there to pay it forward and donate wigs to other women who may not be able to afford it at the time. A woman's aesthetic is how she presents herself to the world, some women don't have the choice to do that with full confidence. It infuriated me how wigs are not covered by most medical aids in America and for those who don't have coverage why should they be denied the tools to make their path in life a little easier. The money that you donate to 'The Shameless Project' will 100% go towards buying hair for those who don't have or can't afford it and change their lives with an act of kindness. We must be the change we wish to see in the world and we must have a purpose that's greater than ourselves and this is mine. So please; give from your hearts and give generously and hold me accountable for something that I deeply care about. Serving those who yet may still be struggling to find their voice and own who they truly are. From the bottom of my heart, and to all those who have supported me in this journey; THANK YOU! Much love, Christina. xXx
