The Severn Challenge
Stourport Boat Club is a small rowing club in the West Midlands, we rely on funds raised from our club’s annual regatta and head events. However due to COVID-19 we have lost the opportunity to bring income to sustain the club, and to repair and renew equipment. This has only been made worse by last years floods.
The Junior Captain and Vice have set the 33 juniors ageing from 12 to 18 the challenge of rowing the length of the Severn then running back, a total of 708km between us. On the 24th of October we’ll aim to complete the distance over the day, we hope you can help us reach our target!
A little about me; I’m a Y13 student and have been rowing for 5 years now, 2 of those spent at Stourport - taking on the role of Vice Captain last year. Having lost the chance to compete I’ve been Itching to find a challenge, it seemed like a great opportunity to gain financial support for the club and provide a focus for the juniors.
