Sean Smith has been going through months of intense body pain, pins and needles, brain fog, headaches, fatigue, confusion, and more. He then started losing his balance, exhibiting weakness and drooping face on his left side, accompanied by increased fatigue/confusion.
On Sunday, August 7, he was admitted into the Emergency Room at Washington Regional. That same night, after an amazing and fast-acting team of medical professionals ran tests and scans, it was confirmed that Sean was suffering from a large brain tumor. They immediately scheduled him for surgery on Friday, August 12.
On Monday, August 15, the surgeon found that Sean’s tumor analysis showed it to be a Grade 4 Glioblastoma, which unfortunately is the most aggressive type of brain tumor… the kind that doesn’t tend to stay gone. Sean has a long road ahead of him with rehab, radiation and chemo. So, as we are currently praying for Sean’s left side to regain function… we are also praying for his LIFE! Julie and the girls know that there are outliers in every situation and that there are also miracles! God is good and Sean is in His hands!
If all goes as planned, they will soon transfer Sean to Encompass Rehab Hospital where he will be for an unknown amount of time. Julie will most likely not be able to stay overnight there (as she did at the hospital). This go fund me was started to help support the unknown total of medical expenses the Smith family will incur during this crisis. Please consider giving to support them.
Thank you so much for showing love and support for the Smiths! Sean and Julie have both been so appreciative of everyone who has reached out with a kind word or offer to help!
