The graduating class of Spring 2023 at the Culinary Institute of America presents The Score, a student planned, operated, and organized charity event. This event will benefit the Dutchess County SPCA, one of the oldest SPCAs in the country. For more than 150 years, the DCSPCA has devoted itself to enforcing humane laws throughout Dutchess County, and providing practical and educational resources to the public, ensuring the ethical treatment of both humans and animals within the community.

Dutchess County SPCA is a no-kill shelter and the 3rd oldest animal welfare agency in the US. We care for more than 1,800 animals each year, finding homes for homeless pets, offering low-cost veterinary services and free vaccination clinics, and providing a variety of resources to help keep pets with their families. We are the only animal welfare organization in Dutchess County chartered to enforce humane law. Through our work with Grace Smith House and Hudson Valley Hospice, we also provide shelter and care for the pets of victims of domestic violence and for those who are entering hospice.

In addition to the students’ charity of choice, a portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Love for Lade Perry Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Omolade “Lade,” Perry, a 16-year US Navy veteran, and student in the CIA’s bachelor’s degree program, who passed away last April.
