Sam is an 11 year old boy who was born with Hyposplastic Left Heart Syndrome, he has had 5 open heart surgeries to help rewire his heart. On May 5th, 2021 Sam's family found out that he was in heart failure. On May 26th, 2021 Sam was officially added to the heart transplant list.

Sam has been on medication and able to stay at home during this time. On April 5th, 2022 his family found out that his heart failure is progressing faster than hoped and it is affecting his other organs/body.

They've always known that a hospital stay was likely & they are now coming closer to that day. An exact date is not known, but the team would like to get him through the school year at home.

Sam is currently a 1B status; going into the hospital will change his status to 1A. This improves his chances of getting a heart.

People have asked how they can help the Schumann's during this time. I've started this GoFundMe page to help with medical costs & gas/food/lodging.

I also want them to be able to use some of the money to enjoy some family time together.

This is a trying time for the entire family; good thoughts and prayers help so much...but so does money. Any amount would make this horrible time less stressful for them.
