Because Every Child Deserves a Healthy Chance at Life...

Growing up I always noticed something deeply unfair — not all children get a fair shot at life. While some are raised with love, care, and stability, others are born into hardship, forced to fight battles far beyond their years. Not by any fault of their own, but simply because of the circumstances they were born into.

Some of these little fighters grow up and become the resilient adults we admire every day. Others barely make it through, scraping by emotionally, physically, or mentally — with no hope for tomorrow. And some never get the chance to grow up at all.

I know this story well… because I was one of those children.

But I was one of the lucky ones. Many are not.

In Nigeria, Children Face Silent Battles Every Day

Children in Nigeria are tough. They face sickness, neglect, trauma, poverty — so often, they become numb to it all. But just because they’re used to hardship doesn't mean they should have to endure it alone. They are still children — with innocence, with potential, with dreams. And they deserve more.

We celebrate school enrollment and vaccination campaigns — and that’s important. But what about emotional health? What about puberty education? What about basic hygiene knowledge, or knowing how to help a friend in crisis?

Too many Nigerian children grow up without the health knowledge they need to stay safe, confident, and whole.

We don’t teach our girls about menstrual health. We don’t teach our boys about respect and consent. Teachers aren’t trained in first aid. Parents aren’t equipped to emotionally support their children.
And so… we raise children who are physically growing but emotionally and mentally wounded.

The School Nurse Health Initiative:

Led by myself, Olivia Princewill — a Public Health School Nurse, and a team of passionate volunteers, the School Nurse Health Initiative is on a mission to change this.

We are taking health education directly into schools and communities across Lagos and Nigeria — teaching children, parents, and teachers how to protect, support, and raise healthy, confident kids.

From puberty and hygiene, to emotional awareness, to nutrition, consent, and first aid — our interactive, age-appropriate sessions give children the tools they need to thrive.

We’re also funding basic health checkups, health gift bags, learning materials, and more — because wellness starts with knowledge and care.
