The Story
In December of last year, a respected professor and mentor passed away, leaving a void in the lives of his family and a lifetime of scholarship behind. He left an incredible 2,000-volume research library—a collection that once opened the wonderful worlds of Paul to me and so many others.
I am launching this campaign to ensure this library remains a resource for the church, while simultaneously providing a vital Legacy Gift to his family.
The Goal: $20,000
This fund is designed to address both an immediate human need and a long-term ministry vision. Here is how the funds will be used:
75% ($15,000) – A Legacy Gift for the Family
The professor's widow is 78 years old and facing significant financial hurdles as she settles the estate and prepares for a cross-country move to be with her children. This gift is intended to provide her with a dignified financial cushion and security during this difficult season of grief and transition.
25% ($5,000) – Establishing the Library Project
These funds will cover the logistical costs of transporting, cataloging, and housing the 2,000-volume collection. Our goal is to establish a dedicated study space in Mississauga, where local pastors and students can access these resources to sharpen their preaching and teaching.
A Dual Mission of Care
This project is about mercy and ministry. It allows us to stand in the gap for a widow in her time of need, while also ensuring that a life’s work of theological study continues to equip leaders in our city for years to come.
How You Can Help
Whether you are a former student, a member of the local church community, or someone who believes in the value of theological legacy, your support makes a difference.
Donate: Every dollar helps us honor a scholar’s memory by caring for his family and his books.
Spread the Word: Please share this campaign with your networks and those who value the intersection of scholarship and care for the vulnerable.
Thank you for being part of this legacy.
