The Schalks need your help, Cancer is back
Donation protected
My name is Eric and over the last eight years my brother in-law Aaron has fought cancer many times. Again...cancer has reared its ugly head.
This is what Mandy wrote on Aaron's Caring Bridge page.
In November 2021 Aaron had a ultra sound done after he noticed a lump in his throat, during the ultra sound they noted a mass. After biopsy’s, scans and many appointments we found out his tongue cancer is back.
On Monday December 27th Aaron will be having major surgery (8-12 hours). They will remove the mass and any lymph nodes that are concerning. We are staying hopeful that is all they will remove. He will have 3-4 surgeons plus their staff. Aaron will have a (hopefully) semi-permanent feeding tube inserted in his stomach. His tongue will need to be completely reconstructed. Recovery is going to be long, painful and frustrating. We all know my husband’s favorite thing to do it talk and he won’t be able to for a while. They have already told him to expect permanent, mild to moderate speech and swallowing issues. We are asking for all the prayers and well wishes you can manage. Thank you for your never ending support.

With Aaron being out of work for a significant amount of time this amazing family is going to need our help. I'm asking my family and friends to share and donate if you're able. Thank you very much.
