Hello Family and Friends,
My name is Sion Sennon, brother and friend to Silvan “Simba” Sennon. As a collective, our family is reaching out on Simba’s behalf to ask for your help. On the night of December 18th, Simba visited South Carolina to attend a funeral service for his late friend. On his way back to the airport to return home to New York, Simba’s Uber was involved in a tragic car collision. Whilst on the highway the car began to stall, and an unsuspecting vehicle wasn’t able to stop in time. The driver proceeded to crash into Simba’s Uber from behind, forcing
it off of the road. Simba suffered a traumatic brain injury, collapsed lungs, and a significant spinal fracture, amongst many other life threatening injuries. Our family has dedicated all of our time and energy to surrounding Simba with our presence, lending support in every possible way. Our mother and Simba’s girlfriend, haven’t left his side since the day following the accident. They’ve spent the last three weeks hopping between hotels and the hospital in an effort to never leave Simba alone. By the grace of God alone, Simba has endured cranial and spinal surgeries and is still with us - However, he is about to embark on what will be a very long and tough recovery process. Simba will have to undergo intensive speech and physical therapy in hopes that he’ll be able to regain some semblance of normalcy and peace. Simba is and has always been the “life of the party.” He’s a traveler, a foodie, a hard worker and a light in the lives of those with the honor of knowing him. Being confined to such physical limitations is going to be very tough on him, but with the love and support of his friends and family he can and will make it back from this. This all said, Simba needs all our help- the level of medical attention he has gotten and will continue to need is accompanied by extensive medical bills. In addition to the medical fees. Simba will have to be transported via emergency airlift from North Carolina back to New York where he’ll continue his recovery, which could cost upwards of $15,000 alone. We are currently unsure about the exact amount of fundraising we’ll need to do- however we are hoping to get out in front of this and raise $30,000 to put toward his hospital stay and allocate the rest of the funds for his continued therapy. Any and all funds raised will go toward helping Simba get the best possible care so that he can one day put this tragedy behind him, and continue to shine like we all know him to. For so many different reasons, 2020 was a very tough year for everyone, however if you’re able to and would like to donate, it would be appreciated beyond measure. We will be sure to keep on updating this campaign page with information on Simba’s progress as it comes.
