The Saucke Mystery Van Tour 2019

Donation protected
Well all........you can't keep a secret of a goal and a public announcing to get attention of something like this for long!  And of course Louie found me out!  Below is a bit of Louie's words to help people understand what this means to him.  Again Thank you ALL for sharing, and donating this campaign.

*****Words from the man himself.........I guess I'll have to say that this picture is what it's all about. This is when we went to the Grand Canyon in 2014 and it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me and most definitely one for the bucket list. I do not have much of a bucket list for the realization that everything because of all of it would contain overseas and getting my age, that is going to be very hard on me so the next best thing is 4 wheels. I do not plan on leaving this planet anytime soon but from what stamina I have left in my life now, the new vehicle would be definitely a great godsend. Thanks for sharing and maybe we can pass the goal?****

How do I even begin to tell the story of this guy? It's Louie...the stories are endless!  First of all Louie has NO idea i'm doing this...but my best work is usually done without people being aware!

You see I've known Louie my entire life.  Growing up in a little mountain town how could you NOT know Louie.  He was a permanent fixture, in my grandparents house, on the corner of F street hanging out with friends, yelling at me at Hot Shots because I was being a "hand full", every SHS sporting event....there's Louie.

I'm going to take a little bit of creative license with my story of Louie...."he might live to 2.....oh wait maybe 5......then well he's made it to 8".....but he defied the odds, and now he's working that silver hair past 50.

Growing up in our little mountain town Louie was confined, and by that I don't just mean in his wheelchair.  By that I mean our hometown was famous for climbing 14'ers, rafting, skiing....mountain bike riding.....all a little hard to do when you can only move a few fingers.  But it was home and he loved it and we loved him and his stories, and company and horrible horrible jokes.  However Louie was truly trapped in a beautiful mountain town that offered him very little.

Again, with my creative license....One day I noticed a change in Louie's fb.....selfies started popping up.  Odd because Louie can't really "take" a selfie....and he was in Denver and a museum, and wait he's in New Mexico?  So the story goes, at least MY version....Louie met a girl.  A fabulous girl named Kerri.....they met in a chat room and talked and talked and then one day she flew in on a Pegasus riding a rainbow and they shared a sandwich and they fell in love!

And Louie's new life began.

Trips, adventures, movies, concerts, taking Louie from our small town and relocating to Arizona where he had so many opportunities to LIVE his LIFE.  Handicap accessible bathrooms and selfies from concerts where he is meeting Lita Ford and Joan Jett and he's going to movies with seating so he doesn't have to sit in the aisle and on the never ending search for a stuffed sopapilla like home in places he can actually get his chair in the door......My friend finally has the life he always wanted and most definitely deserves.

NOW........the real reason you are all here and I'm doing this......THE VAN.  Louie has what I will say is a slightly dented, way past its expiration date metal green can of green beans as a vehicle.  In the last two years I've been here it's always breaking down, it makes the most amazing noises that nobody can repair or a repair, that will stay repaired and I believe it has 3 million (again creative jen license) miles on it.  It's recently gotten hit and honestly it's so old and so worn out....the idea of road trips and adventures is not really a option.

You see this van is on it's last leg.....but is truly Louie's "legs".  You cannot just call Uber or Lyft and can go anywhere, he can't get in a friends car, he can't get on a plane and just go.  This green bean can is Louie's freedom and life and the old can of green beans is on her way out.

A new handicap accessible van with the ramp and the safety components that will keep Lou alive in case of an accident cost upwards of 60,000.  However there is a company here who sells vehicles within a few years old that have been passed down by Veterans.  I want to help get Louie a van.

I am asking you my friends, Louie's friends........our Salida community and friends of friends near and far to help me.  He just barely started to live this life of his......and I want him to continue to have the adventures of a lifetime he has to make up for.
