The Sarko Family

On the morning of Friday, May 13th, 2022, our friend Tim Sarko received the worst phone call a husband and father could imagine. The call came as he waited for his wife and son to meet him at a teacher conference before he headed off to work. The St. Louis County Sherriff’s department called to inform him of a terrible car accident involving his wife, Leah, and their son Evan.

The Sherriff explained on their way to meet Tim at the school, Leah and Evan were t-boned by another vehicle. Emergency services were on the scene and were transporting their 11-year-old son, Evan, to the hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash. Tragically, Leah did not survive the impact.

Evan arrived at the hospital and went into surgery for his injuries. He is currently recovering in the hospital with his dad by his side.

Leah was only 48 years old when her life was so tragically cut short. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was also a close companion to her beloved 4-legged family members. Leah especially enjoyed walks, and bike rides with Evan and family dogs Riley and Bailey. Leah missed Bailey dearly, and there is comfort in knowing they are together again, watching over their family.

Evan and Leah were inseparable as mother and son, and it will be an extremely difficult transition to life without his mom when he is released from the hospital.

Tim is a hardworking employee and a great friend, but he is not one to ask for help. We want to do whatever we can to support Tim and Evan during this sudden and tragic time in their life. We are grateful for all the love, prayers, and support sent to this wonderful family during this difficult time.
