Sandie Kay Mader, 42, passed away unexpectedly October 7th at her home in Elk Grove California.
Sandie was born March 10, 1977 at Wiesbaden, Hessen, Germany to Pamela Kay Hamm, nee Bryant and Kurt Dean Hamm while her father was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Sandie was raised in her two worlds of Orange Grove Texas and Sacramento, California, with a stint in Louisiana - where she acquired a lifelong love of shaved ice. After finishing High School in Sacramento Sandie started a family with her first husband Timothy McCurdy in California. While raising four children and working two jobs spanning from California to Texas Sandie graduated from the University of Phoenix with her Bachelors of Science in Management. In 2008 Sandie achieved her professional dream and became a teacher at Mayde Creek Junior High in Katy Texas. Teaching, and her students, were her passion. January 1 of 2016 Sandie remarried to her husband John Mader at their home making it official that one plus one equals one. Sandie loved people, giving, the outdoors, and was an accomplished backpacker. Inspired by the movie Wild Sandie hiked seventy miles in four days on her honeymoon. Sandie was privately religious.
