The Sahtu Support Association
Donation protected
My name is Bryson Rogers, I am a resident of the Northwest Territories in Canada, and I am currently between jobs.
I was a full-time government employee living in Norman Wells, our region & people require help and support, there is nothing here.
I left my job to start a non-profit society to support my people with trauma and addiction. I am currently in the project's opening process and require funds to stabilize myself & my family during this transition.
I know it was hasty to quit my job and start this association without a large financial safety net, but it's absolutely necessary that this association gets off the ground ASAP I'm not waiting around any longer.
This is the executive summary of the SSA:
The Sahtu Support Association (SSA) is a non-profit organization based in the Sahtu region, committed to supporting individuals in overcoming trauma and addiction. SSA provides a safe, inclusive environment for temporary housing, counseling, creative workshops, and cultural reconnection through traditional practices. Our holistic approach integrates mental health support, artistic expression, and Indigenous cultural heritage to foster healing, personal growth, and community resilience. By addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals in the Sahtu region, SSA aims to empower its clients with compassion, creativity, and cultural pride.
It is currently awaiting corporate registration, and then will be working on registering as a tax-free charity. I believe it may be a few months before funding is sorted, so I would like to ask for help during this transition. I am making it my priority to ensure this society gets built with good intentions and is developed for the people.
Please, if you can help, the Sahtu region and I would appreciate it immensely.
